James Chronis
I started competing in Triathlons at the age of 14, when my Sports teacher at Balwyn High school asked me to compete in a local event. From there I went on to win the event and proceeded to enter the Schoolboy triathlon events. This was a very successful foray for me and I represented Victoria for 4 consecutive years as an under 15, 16, 17, and under 18 athlete at the National School boys Championships. This year in March, I finished 2nd in the under 18s Nationals. I have competed in the I.T.U. Junior Elite Triathlon Series for the past 3 seasons and have been very competitive with some very promising results. In last years series at the age of 17 I finished a creditable 8th in Australia, after the 4 race calendar. Due to my performance and commitment, an invited to compete with open age Elite Triathlete in Caloundra in Queensland came to life. My first foray into the Olympic Distance Triathlon was very successful, in January of this year I was First in the under 19 age group. Currently in training and is looking forward to the coming I.T.U. season as this is his big opportunity to qualify for the World Championships. Triathlons and competing is my passion and my ultimate goal is to represent Australia in the Olympic Games. Along with continuing to represent Australia in any I.T.U. event or series.
