Mick has been an athlete all his life. Beginning as a high-level swimmer in his teen years, where he went over to the USA on a scholarship.
While being inspired by Barb Linquist triathlon was always in his mind. During this time his work ethic of being a professional athlete was gained.
Once back in Australia he continued swimming coaching and is now the Head Coach of the high-performance program at Iona College.
Being a born competitor, he has switched focus to Ironman racing with an impressive debut being unbeaten in his AG in 2019.
Mick is now training for his qualification to Ironman World Championship and will be racing 70.3 WC next year.
